Eco-Shell is Fjällräven's own high-function shell material giving complete protection in wet-weather and tough conditions. At the same time, it also meets strict sustainability requirements because, in our opinion, you just can't compromise with the environment when you are out there in the wild seeking out magnificent experiences.
For that reason, Eco-Shell has an outer fabric made of recycled polyester which has been impregnated without using fluorocarbons (environmentally hazardous substances that spread further when you wash the garment and also when you wear it in the great outdoors). The membrane and inner fabric are made of polyester, making it easier to recycle when the time comes. In addition, the Eco-Shell garment is climate-compensated.
The thing that makes Eco-Shell really interesting is that it has the same high technical performance as other advanced shell materials. The waterproof membrane keeps the wind, rain and sleet from penetrating inside and cooling you down, while also being breathable, wicking away any moisture to the outside.
The material is lightweight, doesn't rustle and allows free movement too. That makes Eco-Shell the perfect reinforcement layer in wet conditions, over a G-1000 jacket or trousers, a fleece or similar garment.
Eco-Shell is the core of the new Keb Eco-Shell technical shell series. The collection consists of jackets and trousers for more adventurous trips and tough conditions. Keb Eco-Shell uses the recently developed Eco- Shell 3-Layer Stretch and Eco-Shell 3-Layer Stretch RS (where RS stands for ripstop). That results in lightweight, flexible garments that move with you in a natural way.
